HOW WE ARE KEEPING OUR EVENTS SAFE
(Subject to change based on local guidelines. Every show will be different, please visit your events drop down on our tour page for specific protocols.)
Here are a few ways you can help us keep the event safe for everyone…
Limit attendance to necessary family members and teachers. Leave the event once your dancers have received their awards.
Please don’t linger or congregate at the event before or beyond your performance. Leave the event once your dancers have received their awards.
Practice social distancing while in the dressing rooms, at the Showstopper Store, and waiting backstage.
Wear a mask at all times while inside the venue. Dancers do not have to wear a mask while performing on stage (unless otherwise required by local guidelines).
Here are a few things we are doing to keep the event safe for everyone…
- Continuous check-ins with venues
- Sophisticated schedule-analyzing technology to monitor crowd density, allowing us to schedule routines without block scheduling
- Larger dressing rooms and merchandise area
- Plexi glass shields in merchandise area
- Attendee seating at round tables distanced for safety (if available)
- Stage floors cleaned and disinfected throughout the day
- Hand sanitation stations will be available
- Showstopper staff will receive daily temperature checks and wear masks at all times
Award Ceremonies have been reimagined!
To minimize crowd size and stage traffic, competition sets will be shorter and this season’s Award Ceremonies will run more frequently, click here to view an example of schedule.
1. When your name or studio is called, please select one representative from your studio to accept the award on stage.
2. Once on stage, your representative may give a shoutout through our free-standing microphone.
3. Before awards begin, the announcer will instruct dancers where to wait to receive trophies and medals.
Some venues will require specific safety protocols. You can find event specific details under each event’s tab on National Tour page!
Thank you greatly for your participation in this event and your cooperation in helping keep it safe for everyone!

We will still have award ceremonies, the Showstopper Store, our Teacher Hospitality Suite, free observation, and the production value you expect from Showstopper.
SAFETY PROCEDURES: Our 2021 season is several months away and circumstances are changing rapidly. We are constantly reviewing CDC, state, and local government guidelines and will work very closely with each venue to comply with all safety protocols.
Specific safety protocols for each event will be released as they approach. Our protocols will always include frequent cleaning, dedicated sanitation staff, and space for social distancing to ensure a safe experience.
2021 TOUR UPDATES (updated January 27, 2021)
Below is a full list of all 2021 tour changes with the most recent update listed first.
Why are we rescheduling shows with capacity limits?
We have been working with venues for months to monitor COVID capacity restrictions. With most venue capacity limits, the total people allowed in the venue would include our staff and maybe one group routine (with no parents to watch or other teammates to watch). We work very hard to make sure that our events are a memorable experience for dancers and that parents feel they get their money’s worth out of each competition. We don’t feel that we can host a quality event within those restrictions. We believe the only way to ensure a quality event is to move it to a date where we can host more people at a time. We would never want to put families who traveled and prepared for an event at risk to have it shut down last minute or have to tell them at the door ‘we are capacity, mom and dad have to wait outside’. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hosting you at a quality Showstopper event!
CONCORD REGIONAL HAS MOVED TO GREENVILLE, SC
As North Carolina capacity restrictions remain at 25 people, we don’t feel that we can host a quality event within those restrictions and have made the decision to move our Concord Regional to Greenville, SC on March 26-28, 2021.
MINNEAPOLIS REGIONAL IS CANCELLED
Due to current government capacity restrictions in Minnesota, we have have to cancel our Minneapolis Regional.
TRI-VALLEY REGIONAL IS CANCELLED
California restrictions are too strict for us to hold a quality Showstopper event and the Alameda County Fairgrounds is closed to administer COVID-19 vaccinations. Unfortunately, we have to cancel our Tri-Valley Regional.
